The Ripples texture
Weave
Simple and versatile, the Weave texture can be used to create the effect of cloth, woven wood textures (such
as a basket), or even chain-link fencing. In this texture, the color controls are for the color of the woven
material and the color of the space in between. Yarn Width controls the size of the weave and inversely con-
trols the size of the gaps. Roundness controls the depth of the woven material. So, a high value given to
Roundness will result in deeper shadows and a heavier look, while a low value will flatten the appearance of
the weave. The example in
Figure 3-17
shows the weave texture with high Yarn Width and low Roundness
values to create an effect similar to a woven basket.
