Taking the illustration a step further into three dimensions, Figure 8-5 shows the same operations per-
formed on two intersecting cubes. The resulting shapes have slightly rounded edges to make the results more
clearly visible. It should be noted that rounding the edges and working with the resulting n-gons are import-
ant parts of using this technique when fine-tuning the finished model. These operations are covered in the
next section of this chapter.
Figure 8-5: Boolean operations in 3D space have much of the same effect as the 2D samples from the pre-
vious example but do create specific challenges.
