This is useful only for the desktop workload intended for short-time access by
temporary staff. Stateless will remove all the data stored by the user on the oper-
ating system when the virtual machine reboots.
The Start in Pause Mode option will allow you to establish a SPICE connection
over a slow WAN connectivity, which requires a long time to establish a SPICE
or VNC connection to a virtual machine.
The Delete Protection option will enable you to protect a virtual machine from
accidental deletion. If this option is checked, you have to uncheck this box before
deleting the virtual machine.
8. Assign a network interface by selecting a drop-down menu, and choose the relev-
ant profile. In our case, we used Silver/vmdata01 . If you want to add more inter-
faces, use the plus sign ( + ), and to remove it, use the minus sign.
9. Move to the Console tab on the left-hand side of the window, and leave all the
values to default. If you are creating a desktop workload and are in need of mul-
tiple monitors, please select the value from the drop-down menu of Monitors .
10. Click on the Show Advanced Options tab in the lower-left corner of the window;
this will display a list of other advanced settings that are used to configure a given
virtual machine, as shown in the upcoming screenshots.
System settings
The System settings can be performed using the following steps:
1. Move to System , and then allocate the memory size and virtual CPU.
2. Expand Advanced Parameters and customize the Cores per Virtual Socket and
Virtual Sockets fields as per your application and its licensing requirement.
