age domains. If you have multiple hosts in the cluster or data center, then you can
select your preferred host to take over the role of SPM with priority set to low,
normal, or high. The SPM role must always be available or the data center will go
into a nonresponsive state. Hence, for some reason if one of the SPM hosts fails,
the other active hosts in the data center will automatically try to take over the role
and bring the data center to the normal up state.
5. Console Override display address under the Console tab is useful in cases
where the hosts are defined by the internal IP address and are behind an NAT fire-
wall. When a user connects to a virtual machine console (using the spice or VNC
protocol) from outside the internal network, instead of returning the private ad-
dress of the host on which the virtual machine is running, a public IP or FQDN
(which is resolved in the external network of the public IP) is returned.
6. Move to the General tab and click on OK to finalize the host approval. Select the
Events pane at the bottom of the console and expand to see the host approval op-
erations in real time. Refer to the event logs to understand what's going on in the
background during the host approval process.
7. The host status will change from Installing to Non Operational and finally, to
Up . Take a look at the following screenshot:

To add the General Purpose Red Hat Enterprise Host as a hypervisor in RHEV, you need a
few additional configurations to be made manually post the operating system installation.
Please refer to the Configuring the Hypervisor section of Chapter 2 , Installing RHEV
Manager and Hypervisor Hosts , to set up and use RHEL host as a hypervisor.
