Northline
Notes: The medium-sized to large, blue fruits are sweet and flavorful
and resist cracking. Produces abundant crops. Grows to 12 feet high
with an 18-foot spread and suckers heavily. Very popular. Wooly elm
aphid can be a problem.
Pembina
Notes: The blue fruits have excellent flavor. The fruits are susceptible
to cracking if the plants receive too much water during ripening. The
plants are productive, grow about 15 feet high with a 15-foot spread,
and produce few suckers. Entomosporium leaf spot and wooly elm
aphid can be problems.
Smokey
Notes: The small, blue fruits are flavorful, sweet, and seedy. Can ripen
unevenly. Grows about 14 feet high with an 18-foot spread and suck-
ers heavily. Once popular commercially, it is losing ground to varieties
