potent cocktails, this place stays raucous until the wee

Epic On the edge of D'Mall T 036 288 1417, W epic
boracay.com; map p.343. In the daytime Epic 's kitchen
turns out tasty dishes from its international menu, and in
the evening it transforms into one of the most popular
clubs on the strip. Resident DJs serve up dance music from
10pm and guest DJs for party nights. Daily 11am-2am.

Regency Resort , this trendy, modern beach lounge bar hosts
DJs whose tunes are piped out to the dancefloor via state of
the art Swiss “plane wave” speakers. Daily 5pm-3am.

everything from techno to r'n'b. There's a P150 cover in
peak season, but this includes a drink. Daily 10am-3am.
SHOPPING
Boracay Tourist Center Halfway between Boat

to foodstuffs, a travel agency, internet café and postal
service, plus they can deliver groceries. Daily 8am-
11.30pm.
Budget Mart Where D'Mall meets the main road
W budgetmart.com.ph; map p.343. The most accessible
decent-sized supermarket. Daily 7am-11.30pm.
D'Mall Behind the beachfront restaurants; map p.343.
D'Mall has a warren of alleys packed with stalls and
boutiques where you can pick up everything from clothes
to dive gear and imported foods. Most shops 9/10am-
9/10pm.
D'Talipapa Market map p.343. Sprawling market with
the best and cheapest selection of beachwear in Boracay,
plus a fruit, veg and wet market, with simple restaurants that
will cook your freshly bought produce. Daily 8am-11pm.
DIRECTORY
Banks and exchange There are several banks with ATMs
on Boracay, but during peak season they often run out of
cash by the afternoon, so it's best to go in the mornings,
and before the weekend. All banks offer exchange. There's
an Allied Bank on the beach path at Boat Station 3, and
another on the main road inland from the Boracay Tourist
Center, which also changes cash.
Hospitals and clinics The main hospital is the 24hr
Don Ciriaco Senares Tirol Senior Memorial Hospital ( T 036
288 3041) on the main road a little south of D'Mall.
The Metropolitan Doctors Medical Clinic, towards the
southern end of the main road ( T 116 or T 036 288 6638,
W boracaymd.com), can also provide first aid or deal with
emergencies and will send a doctor to your hotel.
Immigration Visa extensions are available at the small
Department of Immigration of ce in the Nirvana Beach
Resort on Main Rd (Mon & Tues 7.30am-5.30pm; T 036
288 5267). To extend your visa you'll need to take along a
photocopy of your passport (front cover and arrival stamp),
and fill in an application form.
Internet access Getting online in Boracay is a little more
expensive than many parts of the country; reckon on anything
between P60 and P150/hr. The internet café at the Boracay
Tourist Center is convenient and has fast connection for
P70/hour. Other options are the business centre at Nigi Nigi
Nu 's (P70/hr), Station 168 (P70/hr) at the entrance to D'Mall
and the Sheridan Internet Café (P60/hr) at Boat Station 3.
Laundry The place you're staying will probably arrange
laundry for you, but for a cheaper service there are several
launderettes on the island which charge around P40/Kg:
Laundry Wascherei Is a little south of Boat Station 3,
Lavandera Ko is next to Cocomangas , and Speedwash is on
the main road inland from Boat Station 3.
Pharmacies There are pharmacies selling most necessities
in D'Mall, Boracay Tourist Center and D'Talipapa.
Phones For cheaper rates than the resorts head to the
Boracay Tourist Center.
Police The police station ( T 036 288 3066) is a short walk
inland between Boat Stations 2 and 3, immediately behind
the Boracay Tourist Center. If you have lost something you
can ask the friendly staff at the local radio station, YES
FM 91.1 ( T 036 288 6107, W yesfm911boracay.blogspot
.co.uk), to broadcast an appeal for help. They claim to have
a good record of finding lost property, from wallets and
passports to Labrador puppies. The station o ce is on
Main Rd close to Boat Station 1.
Post The post o ce in Balabag, the small community
halfway along White Beach, is open Mon-Fri 9am-5pm.
