a happening place devoted to healthy living. Kombucha is an acquired taste, but the health
benefits of the effervescent, fermented tea are believed to be far reaching. Maui Kombucha
offers three different flavors on tap, which can change by the hour, as well as raw desserts
and vegetarian meals. Everything is made in-house at this humble little hideaway.

affordable falafel wraps, vegetarian burritos, pad thai, and vegan pizzas. It's a budget-
friendly and tasty way to fill up.
Seemingly every store in Pa'ia (and even some as far away as Ka'anapali) offers “Road to
Hana picnic lunches” as a means of staving off starvation, even though the longest stretch
without any food options is a little under seven miles. There are plenty of places to pull
over and enjoy an outdoor meal, but don't settle on a picnic lunch out of desperation. A
better plan is a hearty breakfast in Pa'ia followed by occasional stops at the roadside food
trucks and fruit stands to get some local flare along with your snacks. Once you reach
the Nahiku Marketplace (39 miles past Pa'ia and six miles before Hana) you're presented
with more options, ranging from coffee shops to barbecue to freshly made Thai. So when
setting out for Hana, the question shouldn't be whether you're going to starve, but rather,
which
place to stop to eat! Go slow, “talk story” with those serving your food, and sample
the local flavors of the East Maui jungle.
