everything from tai chi to Tiger qigong. Rates for drop-in classes are only $15 for classes
on Tao yoga, meditation sessions, and the foundations of qigong practices.

spot for working up a sweat. In addition to the standard gym equipment, there are also
daily classes in everything from yoga and Pilates to belly dancing and fire dancing. Classes
are free for gym members. Inquire with the front desk staff about short-term membership
specials during your time on the island.
If you would rather practice yoga in a scenic retreat in the jungle, single-session classes
are offered for $17 at Maya Yoga Studio (808/268-9426, www.mayayogastudio.com ) , a
calming yoga center on a remote back road of Ha'iku not far from Twin Falls. For specific
directions it's best to either call or view the website, and since class schedules can some-
times be variable, it's best to inquire ahead of time.
Hana
Daily yoga classes are available at the Travaasa Hana hotel (5031 Hana Hwy., 808/
270-5290, www.travaasa.com/hana ), although the classes are only for registered guests of
the hotel. If you're staying at the hotel, inquire with the concierge about the class schedule,
although most classes are usually in the early morning hours.
If you don't happen to be staying at the hotel, you can inquire about classes at Ala
Kukui (4224 Hana Hwy., 808/248-7841, www.alakukui.org ) , a nonprofit establishment
which uses a 12-acre Hana retreat to provide healing pursuits for those seeking personal
