In-Depth Information
The Shape area of the Emitters tab consists of items that allow you to change the
shape that the emitter creates. This is useful when you want to create an emitter
with a particular special effect. For example, when you are creating water spray
from a fountain or water is being blown in the wind in a particular direction.
n Emitter shape : The shape that you want the initial emitter to be; you
can select sphere, cylinder, or box.
n Cylinder axis : What axis will the shape be placed on
X, Y, or Z.
n Width : The width of the shape.
n Height : The height of the shape.
n Depth : The depth of the shape.
n Inner radius : The size of the inner radius of the shape.
n Outer radius : The size of the outer radius of the shape.
Note
Not all shape options are available for all shapes.
The Colour and Texture tabs of the Emitters tab allow you to configure the
starting color of the particles, the RGB color change, and which texture you want
to use. You can see the Colour and the Texture tabs in Figure 11.6.
Figure 11.6
The Colour and Texture tabs.
The Texture tab in Figure 11.6 allows you to specify a texture and use a
particular animation frame to generate the look of the emitter. You can also
randomize the starting frame; this will pick a random animation frame to start
from.
