In-Depth Information
Based on character of curves on the Figure 3 it may be proposed that the com-
posites containing diatomite modi¿ ed by TEOS possesses thermostability higher
than in case of analogous composites with unmodi¿ ed ¿ ller. Probably the pres-
ence of increased interactions between macromolecules and ¿ ller particles due to
modify agent leads to increasing of thermostability of composites with modi¿ ed
diatomite.
Effect of silane modi¿ er on the investigated polymer composites reveals also in
the water absorption. In accordance with Figure 4 this parameter is increased at in-
creasing of ¿ ller contain. However if the composites contain the diatomite modi¿ ed
by TEOS this dependence becomes weak.
FIGURE 4 Dependence of the water absorption on the concentration of filler in the composites
based on epoxy resin containing diatomite modified by 5% (1) and 3% (2) tetraethoxysilane and
unmodified (3) one.
There were conducted the investigation of binary ¿ llers on the properties of the
composites with same polymer basis (ED-20). Two types of minerals diatomite and
andesite with different ratios were used as ¿ llers. It was interesting to establish effect
both of ratio of the ¿ llers and effect of modi¿ er TEOS on the same properties of the
polymer composites investigated.
