SEOUL ADDRESSES
Seoul is in the midst of moving over to a new address system of numbered houses on named streets - you'll no-
tice numbered blue plaques on most buildings now. Confusingly, however, few people know the new street
names, and old-style addresses will continue to be used until the end of 2013. For listings in this topic, we've
provided the address information that is the most helpful. For more on addresses, CLICK HERE .
Sleeping
There are plenty of budget guesthouses and five-star pamper palaces, but reserve well in
advance especially if visiting during busy Asian travel seasons, such as Chinese New Year
and Japan's Golden Week holidays (usually the end of April, early May). Rates at the
cheaper places usually include the 10% government tax, but many midrange and top-end
hotels quote without this amount. The top-end places also add another 10% for service.
