Daily Events
The
changing of the guards
( 11am, 2pm & 3.30pm Tue-Sun)
is an impressive ceremony in-
volving 50 participants, who dress up as Joseon-era soldiers and bandsmen. It happens at
the Daehanmun main gate next to the ticket office facing Seoul Plaza. After the first cere-
mony of the day the guard marches to the Bosingak pavilion, and after the last to
Gwanghwamun Sq.
Free guided tours of the palace (in English) take place at 10.30am Tuesday to Friday,
and at 1.40pm on Saturday in January, March, May, July, September and November, and
1.40pm on Sundays in other months.
