Swimming
Outdoor pools open in July and August in the Han River parks and include Yeouido Hangang Swimming
Pool ( CLICK HERE ) and Ttukseom Swimming Pool ( CLICK HERE ) . Itaewon's Hamilton Hotel has a popular out-
door pool open to nonguests.
Winter Sports
From December to February a handful of ski resorts within easy reach of Seoul (an hour
or less by bus) open. There can be free shuttle buses from Seoul, but you might also want
to look into travel-agency package deals that include transport, accommodation, ski-
equipment hire and lift passes.
During the same months, skate under the stars at the magical, inexpensive ice-skating
rink that appears on Seoul Plaza ( CLICK HERE ; www.seoulskate.or.kr/eng.php ) , outside City Hall.
Swimming pools along the Han River are also turned into skating rinks, as are the pools at
the Grand Hyatt Seoul and Banyan Tree Club & Spa. Lotte World's indoor ice-skating
rink is open all year.
