In-Depth Information
White Bay
With Jost's most striking beach - and the jovial birthplace of the rum-soaked Painkiller
cocktail - you'll find yourself at White Bay at some point during your visit. It's a primo
place to stay, thanks to its multi-budget lodging options and highly entertaining beach bars.
It's a hilly, 1-mile, bun-burning walk from Great Harbour.
Sights & Activities
White Bay Beach is by far Jost's most attractive shore. The long white crescent near the
southwest end of the island lies pressed to the sea by steep hills. A barrier reef shelters the
water from swells and waves, which makes for good swimming and a protected anchorage.
A water-sports vendor at the beach's west end rents pedal boats and floats a water
trampoline . It caters mostly to cruise ship passengers who come over for day trips.
Besides that, White Bay's activities are wriggling your feet in the crazy-white sand, drink-
ing and people-watching.
