Mine Shaft Café LIVE MUSIC

the place really rocks for the full-moon party. On Tuesday nights, a DJ spins island tunes,
and Friday nights it's all about calypso.
Chez Bamboo LIVE MUSIC
( 284-495-5752) Chez Bamboo is a hip after-dinner destination for drinks. On Friday
night, jazz, blues or calypso fills the air. The crowd is largely couples and groups of friends,
mostly expats and travelers.
Sam's Piano Bar LIVE MUSIC
( www.bvidining.com ; Rock Cafe restaurant) Musicians tickle the ivories every night
starting at 8pm.
Shopping
Virgin Gorda won't do much for shopaholics. About the only place to fill your bag is in
Spanish Town's Yacht Harbour mall, which holds several little boutiques including the fol-
lowing:
Flamboyance Exotic perfumes.
Margo's Jewelry Boutique Handcrafted coral, pearl and gold jewelry.
VirginGordaCraftShop Locally produced straw hats, dolls, books and other mementos.
Thee Artistic Gallery Crystal, coins and nautical-themed trinkets.

The Yacht Harbour mall holds most of the island's services, including banks and laundry.
Chandlery Ship Store (Yacht Harbour mall; per 10min $5;
7am-5pm Mon-Fri,
8am-noon Sat) Has a couple of internet terminals.
Nurse Iris O'Neal Clinic ( 284-495-5337; 9am-4:30pm Mon-Fri) On the ridge
road in the Valley near the airport. There's a physician on staff, but for hospital services
you must go to Tortola.
