Boat
There's only one way to reach St John: boat. All ferries arrive in Cruz Bay. Ferries from
St Thomas and the British Virgin Islands arrive at separate docks, though they are within
steps of each other. Check See St John( www.seestjohn.com ) for schedules. Main routes:
FROM ST THOMAS (RED HOOK) Passenger ferries ($6 one way, 20 minutes) run al-
most every hour, starting at 6:30am until midnight. Three different companies run car fer-
ries between Red Hook and Enighed Pond beside Cruz Bay (round trip around $50, 20
minutes), with sailings almost every hour between 6am and 7pm.
FROM ST THOMAS (CHARLOTTE AMALIE) Passenger ferries ($12 one way, 45
minutes) run three times a day from Charlotte Amalie's waterfront, departing at 10am, 1pm
and 5:30pm.
