One Day
Let's set our priorities: beach, hike, happy hour. Luckily, the island is filled with
beach/hike combos. The low-key option is to take the
Lind Point Trail
, which de-
parts around Cruz Bay from the ferry dock, and walk to secluded
Honeymoon

. For more pizzazz, grab a cab to
Cinnamon Bay
for windsurfing, paddle-
boarding and trails to sugar mill ruins. Hoist a happy-hour beverage back in Cruz
Bay at

or
Joe's Rum Shack
. Soak it up with dinner at
Rhumb Lines

Two Days
Devote the day to a favorite activity: go hiking with a national park ranger, diving on
a shipwreck or kayaking along coastal reefs. Tour operators can set you up. DIY
types can rent a 4WD and head to
Coral Bay
and the South Shore for trekking,
snorkeling and dancing at
Skinny Legs
.
Bus
Vitran(fare$1)
operates air-conditioned buses over the length of the island via Centerline
Rd. Buses leave Cruz Bay in front of the ferry terminal at 6am and 7am, then every hour at
25 minutes after the hour until 7:25pm. They arrive at Coral Bay about 40 minutes later. In
reality, the schedule can be erratic.
