When to Go
Mid-December through April is when children's activities are in full swing at the resorts.
The water is calmest for sailing, swimming and snorkeling in spring.
Accommodations

dominiums, private villas and luxury resorts. We've identified kid-friendly places

. When making a reservation, be sure to mention that you're
bringing the little ones.
Larger resort hotels offer supervised half- or full-day activity programs for kids up to age
12 (sometimes older).
The eco-campgrounds on St Thomas, St Croix and particularly St John offer opportunit-
ies to experience the islands' natural beauty; they're best for families with school-age kids.
Villa and condominium rentals offer an appealing alternative for larger families and
longer stays, since the units have more space, kitchens for DIY meals and laundry facilities
in some instances. However, the properties are not always child-proofed, and you might
run into issues such as uncovered electrical outlets or glass tables and other sharp-edged
decor. Always ask the rental agent for specifics.
