GETTING THERE & AWAY
Lac Itasy lies near the village of Ampefy, 120km west of Antananarivo and south of Anala-
vory (which lies along the RN1). It's doable as a day trip from Tana with your own vehicle,
but you'll need to sleep in Ampefy if you go by taxi- brousse - take a vehicle for Tsiroan-
omandidy, get off in Analavory (1½ hours, Ar8000) and change to another vehicle going
south to Ampefy (10 minutes, Ar2000).
You'll need your own vehicle to see the waterfalls.
