Maison de l'Isalo
MUSEUM
( 7am-6pm) This kid-friendly museum about the history, culture, and geology of the
park is a bit underwhelming, as it occupies one room in a much larger building. It's free,
though, and the only museum around, so if you are driving by it's worth a stop.
Rock Formations
ROCK FORMATION
If you like finding figures in stone,
La Reine de l'Isalo
(the Queen of Isalo) sits about 3km
south of the museum, on the left hand side of the road. Keep on going and you'll come to
another rock formation,
La Fenêtre de l'Isalo
, a natural window that affords an interesting
view over the plain. It's a popular place to watch the sunset.
