Tanambao with this superb annex on the beach, even though you must reserve through the
former. It has a fantastic canal-side location with four waterfront bungalows that are the
best in Manakara.

the perpetually empty pool front and centre, these tiki-hut bungalows set in a well-land-
scaped compound on the beach are a great way to enjoy the unique feeling of straddling
both canal and sea. Bungalow 'CH' is right at the tip of a peninsula and the honeymooners'
choice.

with a shady 1st-floor terrace, fans and lots of new renovations. The attentive owner

Sidi Hotel

Floridian and concrete pretty much sums up the appearance of this U-shape monster with
drive-in courtyard in Tanambao. Rooms are noted for their iridescent bedspreads and occa-

La Guinguette

place, located at the base of the bridge in Manakara-Be. It's a great spot to sit and have a
drink overlooking the canal, while the local fishers cast their nets. Or stay and enjoy the
fresh seafood.

Magnarobo
(Tanambao; per min Ar50; 8am-noon & 2-6pm Mon-Fri, 8am-noon Sat)
is slow but the best option for internet. Manakara has several banks and ATMs to choose
from.
