Le Pousse-Pousse FRENCH, MALAGASY €€
(Antsenakely; mains Ar8500-12,000; 11.30am-1.30am Thu-Tue) This charming place,
where you eat inside a pousse-pousse , is known for its cheeseburgers - rare hereabouts -
and occasional live music. Menu in English, too.
Restaurant Razafiramamonjy CHINESE, MALAGASY €
(Rue Jean Ralaimongo; mains Ar3000-5000) This locally recommended place, frequented
by Malagasy families, offers meat, chicken and seafood cooked many different ways, al-

and pizzas to expats, river guides and tourists - a tour company is based out of the bar.
Zandina EUROPEAN, MALAGASY €€
(5 Ave Foch; mains Ar13,000; 11.30am-1.30am; ) If you can deal with the lame art
on the walls, this is a good place for pizza and grills, the latter served on an enclosed patio
with a brick oven.
Relais des Saveurs DESSERTS €
(Rue Ralaimongo; smoothies Ar2000) The best smoothies in town, here known as
'smoozies'. Good omelettes, too. Next to Hôtel Hasina.
Au Bon Coin MALAGASY, CHINESE €
(Ave Foch; mains Ar4000-5000) A charming budget choice, with rare rooftop seating, a
casual ambience and great breakfasts.
DRINKING & ENTERTAINMENT
Nightlife in Antsirabe doesn't match the array of hotels and restaurants. The Tahiti
nightclub (Rte de Tananarive) at the Hotel Diamant is the longstanding choice for dancing.
Otherwise, people tend to congregate in hotel and restaurant bars, such as Chez Billy, or
Restaurant Razafimamonjy.
