from Sequentially Sampled Gut Extracts.” Quaternary Science Re-
views 26 (2007): 853-861. The researchers found pollen samples in
Ötzi's digestive tract that indicates Ötzi was in the mountains for
a while, then descended—probably to a village—and then quickly
climbed again to the place where he died.
