Principal Contributions

Wenbo Wu’s academic interests are inspired by dramatic transformations occurring in China. He regards the transition fundamentally as changes in degrees of freedom. Through his empirical analyses on the simultaneous relationships among economic freedom, political freedom, and economic development, he is able to demonstrate that economic freedom is important in promoting economic growth and that political freedom is related to economic development.
