Healthy Food Can Taste Great (Prediabetes)

As soon as my granddaughter started eating solid foods, my daughter fed her good fruits and vegetables that she prepared herself. She also fed her small amounts of chicken and fish. As a result, my granddaughter loves fruits, vegetables, poultry, and fish. She has no particular interest in sweets. She has learned that the taste of fresh food is far superior to highly processed baked sweets.
Any child can learn this lesson, especially at a young age. It takes more effort on the part of the parent because it’s easier to heat a jar of baby food than to bake a sweet potato or some fish. But the payoff is worth the effort.
I offer many suggestions in this topic for ways to turn around poor eating habits. When you have kids, one of the best things you can do is grow some of your own vegetables or take your child to a farm where you can pick them. Encourage your child to taste the vegetables immediately after you pick them, at the height of their flavor. You may not believe that a carrot can be sweeter than an ice cream cone, but you would be surprised.
