German companies have more diverse sources of information available regard-
ing the possibilities of building a cross-border cooperation than Czech companies
(see Table 5.3). However, there are also similarities: the high usage of private
contacts.
Most of the businesses have a positive view of the future relating to cross-border
cooperation which is demonstrated in Table 5.4. One third of the German companies
consider their cooperation as upgradable.
Out of all the possible motives supporting cooperation, the most important
feature for businesses on both sides of the border is access to bigger markets.
There are, however, mostly differences (see Table 5.5) as Czech business own-
ers are mainly interested in exchanging information and gaining more experience.
Any advantages in the possibility of reducing labour costs did not seem as
important.
