3. Check on any inconsistencies or differences and make a
note of them.
4. Devise a method of linking your new fi eld data with the
publication. If it is a description of different beds it might,
for instance, be as simple as adding a column to your
notebook page for cross reference to the published bed
numbers/units.
5. If the integration of the data is essential, and it is unclear
from the publications how to correlate, consider contacting
the author(s) of the publication(s).
