In-Depth Information
Radio stations throughout the Ohio Valley responded to the 1937 flood with hours of on-
the-scene reporting, and a number of big-city stations rushed reporters to the scene. Here

Illinois neighborhood. Today Totton is remembered for doing the first radio play-by-play
airing of a baseball game—a contest between the Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh Pirates on
April 20, 1925.
