carse (estuarine clay) in Stirlingshire, Scotland. Dull bluish
colours at the base indicate anaerobic conditions (Cg), whilst
brown horizons above (Ag and Bg) have brighter colours
indicating better aeration and oxidizing conditions, principally
in summer.
