advanced atmospheric model. The outputs are delivered to a large range of customers
including the government, businesses, the general public and the armed forces (Met
Offi ce 2013b ) as a range of tailored forecasts and briefi ngs.
The Environment Agency is a customer of the Met Offi ce's probabilistic and
deterministic forecasts for spot and areal locations. The Met Offi ce's observations
and predictions of the weather feed into the fl ood warning and fl ood forecasting
