This weathering pattern was most likely produced by thermal expansion. It is certainly the result of
mechanical weathering because the rock is merely breaking up into smaller fragments. Freeze-thaw is
a mechanical process but is unlikely to have much of an effect in southern Texas.

the exposure above and fell to their current location.
