The cartographers who use official data may be very
critical of the data but this did not stop them from using

In addition to government data, Andreas Schneider's map
for the Institute for Information Design Japan uses data
from TEPCO to get a picture of the situation around the
Fukushima station. His choice stirred up some ethical
questions:
In regards to TEPCO - we long hesitated, but
then agreed to use their data - as even the
government would use it - so rather than having
these data published under the government's
name we felt it was more proper to name TEPCO
as such. Although we all share the dilemma that
these data are provided by those which have
vested
