In-Depth Information
So the Pachube guys were kind enough to create
all those data feeds, because it is several
hundreds sensors stations, and they created these
feeds for every stations, for no fee, of course, it
was pro bono , and that become a pretty important
data app for all the people who would try to
visualize that data. […] Because my CSV
download aren't an API, they just contain either
the latest value, or all values, so one is very short
the other one is very long, but in combination
with pachube API it is pretty powerful I think.

Once the data were uploaded to the Pachube platform, it
was possible to query them through an API so that data from
different formats (CSV, XML or JSON) could be accessed. The
website contains a considerable number of data feeds 26 and
involves the participants mentioned previously such as Marian
Steinbach, the Tokyo Hackerspace and Safecast.
It should be noted that this platform can be used in
addition to publishing data on a personal website. Marian
Steinbach published the data he collected on Pachube online
through an API to make them easier to re-use. However, he
continued publishing the data as a CSV file on his own
website as he was unsure, at the beginning, of the agenda
behind the Pachube website, as it was created by a private
company 27 .
Thus, several cumulative methods of data transfer onto
maps were used:
26 554 feeds for the query japan radiation , June 10, 2012, https://
