Bay of Bengal (Fig. 6a). The forecast for days 12-18 based on the initial
condition of 15 th also indicated the presence of cyclonic circulation valid during
the subsequent week from 26 Dec-1 Jan (day 12-18 forecast), although it is
located little to the south (Fig. 6b) and seen as east-west trough. The relative
vorticity maximum also shows maximum value over southern parts of Bay of
Bengal in days 5-11 forecast (Fig. 6c) and further moved southward during
