2. Study Area
Masindi district lies between latitudes 10 30 Nand2 30 N, longitudes
31 18 Eand32 18 E while Rakai district lies between latitudes 0 and
1 S, longitudes 31 Eand32 E.
Uganda was delineated into climatological zones by basing on similarity
of rainfall characteristics which are shown in Fig. 1. 3 Rakai and Masindi
are located such that they spread over many climatological zones.
Masindi district spreads over zones K, L and I while Rakai district
spreads over zones CE and A1.
3. Methodology
Rainfall records of all the stations within the study areas were obtained from
the Department of Meteorology. The rainfall records were first checked to
