deposit is composed of rip-up clasts of peat and pieces of wood interbedded with
sand. Bondevik et al. ( 2003 ) interpret this as a result of two waves with the first wave
eroding the peat surface and transporting the rip-up clasts of peat and the
backwash leaving the eroded clasts and other organic remains at the surface of the
tsunami-laid sand. The second wave buried the clasts in sand.
