Four rivers are also specified in the Paradise which the Koran says Allah has prepared for
faithful Muslims, a place most frequently described as 'gardens under which rivers flow'.
Here the devout are sustained by a river of flowing water, and three others comprising milk,
wine, and honey. It is frequently thought that the four rivers of Paradise have exerted a
