Correlation.analysis.between.the.precipitation.values.at.the.selected.LTER.sites.and.
the.circulation.indices.is.summarized.in.Table 9.2..In.general,.the.ρ-values.for.the.
site.precipitation.values.were.less.than.those.for.the.gridded.data,.even.when.com-
pared. to. the.ρ-value. for. the. grid. cell. containing. the. LTER. site.. Perhaps. the. most.
notable. result. of. the. site. data. analysis. is. the. fact. that,. for. 7. of. the. 16. sites,. there.
were.no.signiicant.correlations.between.precipitation.and.any.of.the.four.circulation.
indices..For.the.remaining.sites.(i.e.,.those.with.at.least.one.signiicant.correlation),.
each.of.the.four.circulation.modes.correlates.with.at.least.one.site..Only.the.Bonanza.
Creek.site.(located.near.Fairbanks,.AK).was.signiicantly.correlated.with.more.than.
one.index.
