The estimated flows and salinities from the mass balance approach were used
for preliminary water quality modeling studies with WASP5 and as initial values for
CE-QUAL-W2 hydrodynamic simulations. The CE-QUAL-W2 modeling study was
begun for a simplified version of the model network. The results obtained from the
CE-QUAL-W2 simulations are compatible with field data.
The modified densimetric Froude number was used to estimate the stratification
potential of Koycegiz Lake. The values calculated for each month were between 10 −4
