Lines (b), (c) and (d) show different composite measurements which are
extracted from them. It is easy to distinguish the succession of Schwabe
solar cycles, over 11 year periods, numbered 21, 22, 23 and 24. The three
composites do not overlap well: starting from the same base in 1986, the
