only apt that this section emphasizes the inspirational
and enthusiastic role played by Bob Geldof during the
Ethiopian drought of the mid-1980s. The reaction to his
initiatives by individuals, regardless of their economic or
political allegiance, gives hope that the effects of even
the worst natural calamities affecting humanity can be
minimized.
