In-Depth Information
because radiation from the surface is absorbed at many wavelengths by clouds
and aerosols before being measured by a satellite instrument. In the meantime, the
forcing uncertainty and the resulting range of climate perturbations calculated by
ESMs remain a useful test of our understanding of the mechanisms relating dust
radiative forcing to the climate response.
