In-Depth Information
Address: Barge House St
Website: www.harveynichols.com/oxo-tower-london
This Harvey Nichols icon on the Thames is home to a few art galleries, some boutique
shops as well as a restaurant, brasserie and bar located on the eighth or top floor of the
tower. They serve pan-Asian and British dishes with a stunning view of the Thames and
central London. However, the prices are quite steep. If these spots are out of your budget,
check out the view from their public viewing platform, which is free, and move on. There
are other dinner options coming up.
Gabriel's Wharf
Price: Free to enter, £5-20 (pies to main dishes)
Hours: vary
Address: 56 Upper Ground
Website: www.coinstreet.org/developments/gabrielswharf
*Continue another five minutes or less along the River Thames until you see Gabriel's
Wharf painted in white on a brick building to your left.*
A more casual affair, Gabriel's Wharf looks like an old fishing village, but it's actually a
boutique dining and shopping area right on the River Thames. It has an array of restaurants,
ranging in price, from pie shops ( Pieminister ) to sandwich stores ( Sarnis ) and sit-down
restaurants. This area is especially nice in the summer as it has loads of outdoor seating.
Grab a pint from Studio Six or a glass of wine at The Wharf . Rest those legs after a long
day of walking and take in London life.
