building to your right with a blue plaque that reads, "The Rose Theater."

Built in 1587,
the Rose Theater
was the Globe's competition and the two continue to com-
pete today. While the original Globe only offers modern markers of its placement, the Rose
Theater actually allows people to see a piece of it. An indoor archaeological site, you can
see the the layout of the Rose Theater and its remains from inside this building. The Rose
is also an operating theater. Check their website for more information on upcoming shows.
