In-Depth Information
London Bridge as it was known in Medieval times became no longer when Parliament had
all houses and shops on the bridge destroyed in 1758. That bridge stood until 1831 when a
new London Bridge, the one that's here today, was built to replace the 600-year-old bridge.
Of course, we all know the old children's song, "London Bridge is Falling Down", which
was written about the bridge in the 1600s.
Get your first glimpse of the River Thames here and a stunning view of the entire city. Spot
well-known fixtures like the Gherkin, HMS Belfast and the Tate Modern. The best shot of
Tower Bridge will be as soon as you walk onto London Bridge. Continue walking across
to our next stop and lunch at Borough Market.
