make another left onto St. Martin's Place. The entrance to National Portrait Gallery will
be ahead on your left.*
This art museum was founded in 1856 to acknowledge the faces of the men and women
who impact Britain's history. Not only will you find historical images of royalty and im-
portant politicians here, but you'll see more recent portraits of TV and film personalities
and travelling exhibitions as well. The first official portrait of Kate Middleton, after be-
coming Duchess of Cambridge, by Paul Emseley is hung here.
