The next parameter, XXRD , is a password encryption used when LTOM is executed in interactive and as a
background process.
LTOM provides the following functionality:

• Automatic Hang Detection

• System Profiler

• Automatic Session Tracing

Automatic Hang Detection
This is a rules-based hang detection system. These rules are predefined by Oracle; however, the user has options to
modify the rules or add additional rules to detect hangs. By default only non-idle wait events are considered for hang
detection. These rules are saved in the hangDetect.properties file under $TOM_HOME/init directory.
The properties file is divided into three sections.

• Event trigger rules section : This section defines the various events that are required to capture
hang statistics. The default parameters defined by Oracle in this section are sufficient most of
the time. However, if additional events need to be configured, they can be added here using
the following syntax:
