there are several standard workload-testing tools available as freeware or on a commercial basis. for example
1.
hammerora is a load generation tool and provides standard tpC-C and tpC-h workloads.
2.
swingbench is another free load testing tool available and written specifically for simulating
workloads in a raC environment.
3.
benchmark factory is commercial software and also used for a similar workload generation.
4.
loadrunner is a capture and execute simulation tool. it captures screens from application
interfaces and executes the same screen as multiple users. it helps identify scalability
features from various functional areas of the application.
there are probably several other load testing tools and products. it's not the product that's important; it's the
features that support the type of tests and the statistics that is critical.
