Refugio Chileno CABIN $

Chileno is one of the smallest refugios, with 32 beds and a small provisions kiosk. It's
run on wind energy and toilets use composting biofilters.
Refugio Los Cuernos CABIN $

(dm CH$24,500, incl full board CH$50,500; Sep-Apr) Filling fast, this mid-W location tends
to bottleneck with hikers going in either direction. But with eight beds per room, this
small lodge is more than cozy. New separate showers and bathrooms for campers relieve
some of the stress. For a deluxe option, eight two-person cabins with shared bathroom
offer privacy, with skylights and access to a piping-hot wooden hot tub.
Mountain Lodge Paine Grande CABIN $

CH$41,000; ) Though gangly, this park installation on the W hiking circuit is nicer than
most dorms, with sublime Los Cuernos views in all rooms. Its year-round presence is a
godsend to cold, wet winter hikers, though meals are not available in winter (May to
September). There's on-site camping, a kiosk with basic kitchen provisions and dome
camping.
Between Lago Grey and Valle Francés, it's a day hike from either location and also ac-
cessible by ferry across Lago Pehoé.
