finest dining can be found at this French-Italian trattoria - the pastas are all extremely
good, but the trout dishes are the absolute standouts.
Confitería Donato CAFE $
(cnr JB Alberdi & Santa Fe; mains AR$45-80; 8am-11pm; ) Plenty of dark wood paneling
and brass fittings give this place an old-time feel and the wraparound seats may have you
lounging around for hours. The menu runs the usual confitería gamut, with plenty of
sandwiches, cakes and coffee on offer. There's live music Friday to Sunday nights and
the occasional tango show - drop in for the schedule.

Orientation
Known as Félix San Martín in town, the east-west RN22 is the main thoroughfare, and
lies a few blocks south of downtown. Be sure not to confuse it with Av San Martín (ie
sans the 'Félix'), the obligatory homage to Argentina's national icon. The principal
north-south street is Av Argentina, which becomes Av Olascoaga south of the old train
station. Street names change on each side of Av Argentina and the old train station.
Several diagonal streets bisect the conventional grid.
Information
Neuquén's dozens of travel agencies are almost all located near downtown. Several
banks cluster around the corner of Av Argentina and Juan B. Justo have ATMs.
ACA (Automóvil Club Argentino; 0299-442-2325; Diagonal 25 de Mayo at Rivadavia) Argen-
tina's auto club; good source for provincial road maps.
